Dr. Craig Dockter
Dr. Craig Dockter, a native of McClusky, North Dakota, graduated from McClusky High School and enrolled at Minot State University in the fall of 1982. He graduated from MSU in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in computer science. In 1987 he enrolled at Pacific University College of Optometry and graduated in 1991 with a Doctor of Optometry. In the summer of 1991, he was accepted at the American Lake VAMC residency program in Tacoma, Washington as an optometric resident where he studied hospital-based optometry, ocular pathology and geriatric care. During his residency he cared for patients at the American Lake VAMC and the Seattle VAMC. In 1992 he journeyed to South Dakota to join Vision Care Associates.
Dr. Dockter's professional interests include primary care optometry, which includes caring for patients of all ages. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and South Dakota Optometric Society, where he served as its president in 2001. His personal interests include Christianity, family, sports, wood working, gardening, yard work and coaching youth basketball.
