Personal History

Dr. Hoellein grew up in Eureka, South Dakota before moving to Warner, South Dakota where he graduated high school. During his time at NSU, he worked for Vision Care Associates as an optometric technician which helped solidify his decision to apply for Optometry school. Attending Optometry school in Oregon, he had the opportunity to take in all the sights the state had to offer and spent a lot of his time outside of class, hiking. Outside of work he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

His favorite part of working for Vision Care Associates is getting to work together with a tight-knit group of doctors to provide the best eye care to the people of rural South Dakota.

He enjoys playing pickleball.
He is a big sports fan and loves to attend just about any sporting event.
